Biography

Singer/Songwriter Vonnie Scott aspires to reach a broad audience with her message of love, hope, and optimism, while offering up stirring, gritty vocals, take-notice guitar work, and lyrics to touch every listener. Armed with a strong faith and a voice that scoffs at conventional limits, the Indiana-born artist started making waves in the late 80's and early 90's, singing lead and back-up for various local bands. At the same time, she was providing vocals for jingles and other studio projects, honing her songwriting skills, and finishing a music degree from Butler University in Indianapolis. In 1998, Vonnie uprooted to Southern California to enjoy the sea, the sun, and the LA music scene. After 6 years of singing and playing in the LA clubs and coffee-houses, performing both her originals and fronting the Heart Tribute band, "Barracuda", Vonnie and her family decided to head back to the Midwest. There she and her husband, Cliff, started Scottie Dog Music, a recording/rehearsal studio in Bloomington, IN. While in Bloomington, Vonnie continued to hone her songwriting skills playing with some amazing fellow songwriters in the Southern Indiana area, (check out www.myspace.com/bloomingtonsongwritershowcase). Back in sunny SoCal as of 2009, Vonnie is performing her originals as well as covers in the LA and Orange County venues. She also leads worship for various church ministries in the Orange County area. Vonnie is set to release her fourth album sometime in 2012, featuring more original tunes. She wants to share her faith and her passion, and invites you to join her for a time of unforgettable music, voice, and love.
